My brother was the smartest person I ever met, a true polymath. I miss him every day. I will never get over losing him at only 41 years old. Killed way too young by a cancer in our family genes, that tried for me the following year. Survived by his life partner, Leslie Bowman, my forever sister. He attended Pomona/ Clairmont and graduated with a BS and a Masters degree in math, then a PHD at Michigan. Was the head of R&D at a tech company in Philadelphia. He once wrote to me that "the only things we truly have in life is our time and our attention", and I often think of that whenever I waste those things. But he always said he was lazy. He was kind and generous, never stopped teaching. There is a scholarship fund named for him at Pomona, if you want to contribute.
